According to a report from Football Insider, multiple MLS clubs are keen on signing West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere in January.

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer of 2018 on a free transfer after his contract had expired with Arsenal.

Wilshere has really struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium, however.

The 34-capped England international has made just 16 appearances for West Ham, and has chipped in with only one goal and one assist.

Football Insider claims that several MLS clubs want to sign Wilshere, and Hammers co-owner David Sullivan is ready to listen to offers for the injury prone midfielder.

Selling Wilshere would be 100 per cent the right decision. He has offered West Ham absolutely nothing over the past 18 months.

The former Arsenal man earns £100,000 per week, according to Spotrac, and getting that kind of salary off the books would be a very wise move from the Hammers.

The east London club really need to improve their squad in every department.

And freeing up Wilshere’s massive wages would be a good place to start.

It is so disappointing that injuries have ruined the midfielder’s career to date. When he burst onto the scene over a decade ago with Arsenal he looked like he would become a true superstar in the game.

It is clearly evident that that is no longer the case, however. And now is the right time for West Ham to cut their losses on Wilshere.
