According to a report from Football Insider, West Ham are willing to listen to offers for Andriy Yarmolenko in January.
The 30-year-old joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be worth £17.5 million, according to the Evening Standard.
He has been really disappointing thus far, however.
Yarmolenko has racked up just five goals and two assists in 25 appearances for West Ham.
The 83-capped Ukraine international has shown signs of what he is capable of, but he just hasn’t been consistent enough.
The former Dortmund man has looked slow and laboured in his play this season, and often slows the Hammers’ attacking play down.
And Football Insider claims that West Ham are ready to cut their losses on Yarmolenko.
The problem for the Hammers is that the 30-year-old’s value has plummeted over the past 18 months.
So should the east London outfit sell?
Yarmolenko clearly isn’t cut out for the Premier League.
And even if West Ham recoup half the fee they paid Dortmund for his services 18 months ago, they should not think twice about moving him on.
The Hammers need to bring in younger, hungrier players. And getting rid of the Ukraine international would free up a whole lot of cash.
He earns £115,000 per week according to Spotrac, and he quite simply is not living up to that kind of financial outlay.
