According to a report from Foot Mercato, Chelsea could be willing to sell Pedro, and West Ham are in the hunt to sign the Spaniard.
The 32-year-old joined the Blues from Barcelona in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth £21 million (BBC).
Pedro has been reasonably successful at Stamford Bridge, without being spectacular. He has racked up 42 goals and 27 assists in 194 appearances for Chelsea.
Foot Mercato claims that the Blues could move him on this month, however, with his contract set to expire in the summer, and West Ham are one of three clubs keen on signing the three-time Champions League winner.
Good signing for the Hammers?
In his prime, Pedro was one of the best attackers in world football. He won all there is to win with Barcelona, and really has to go down as one of the best players of his generation.
At first glance, it would be easy to think that the Chelsea man would be a superb signing for West Ham.
He is 32, however, and already past his best. The last thing the Hammers need is to sign another ageing player on the downward curve of their career looking for one last big pay day.
It could also be argued that West Ham really should be prioritising other signings such as a new centre-back, a centre-forward, a goalkeeper and central midfielder.
The Hammers should be focusing their recruitment on young and hungry players with high ceilings.
A move for Pedro might end up working out in the short-term, but it could very have big long-term ramifications.
West Ham should look elsewhere.
