The Sun broke the news last night that West Ham are attempting to hijack Crystal Palace’s £15 million move for Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen.

And Reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee has backed up that report by confirming the claims on Twitter:

The Sun claims that the east London outfit are ready to offer £12 million up front plus £5 million in add-ons.

West Ham desperately need more pace, drive and energy in the final third. When Michail Antonio is unavailable, David Moyes has simply nobody of that ilk to call upon.

That would all change if the Hammers get Bowen, however.

Hull ace would be a brilliant signing for West Ham

The 23-year-old has been on fire in the Championship this season, racking up 16 goals and seven assists in 29 games for the Tigers (Who Scored).

In fact, he has been incredibly consistent over the past two-and-a-half years. He scored 14 goals in the 2017/18 campaign and 22 in the 2018/19 season (Transfermarkt).

Bowen can play anywhere along the front-line or midfield, but has mostly been used as a right winger this season (Who Scored).

In 29 Championship outings this season, the Hull ace has averaged 3.6 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game (Who Scored).

Bowen plays with a certain kind of directness that West Ham really need. He is full of energy, pace and power, and has great movement with Football Insider claiming that scouts who have watched him in action have likened him to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

If the Hammers get this one done it will be a truly exceptional signing for them, and he could make the difference between relegation and survival this season.
