West Ham and Real Madrid have opened talks over the signing of Dani Ceballos, according to The Express. Ceballos is surplus to requirements at Real Madrid and West Ham want to bring him to England.
The Hammers have now started discussions with the Spanish giants over this deal. Ceballos will reportedly cost West Ham £20m if he joins.
Who is Dani Ceballos?
Ceballos is a central midfielder who plays for Real Madrid. And this is a position where West Ham could do with some fresh blood.
The 22-year-old is a young promising player but Zinedine Zidane has told him he can leave. With no future at the Bernabeu, West Ham could be his next club.
Real Madrid signed Ceballos from Real Betis back in 2017. He had already played over 100 games for Betis, scoring seven goals, before sealing his move to the La Liga heavyweights.
In two seasons at Real Madrid, the six-cap Spain international has scored five times in just over 50 appearances. But he has only started 13 league matches this season in a disappointing campaign for the club.
Zidane is planning a summer reshuffle and Ceballos is one who can leave. Real Madrid will demand £20m for the Spanish midfielder with West Ham discussing this potential deal.
