West Ham United allegedly now want to sign versatile Arsenal ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles before the transfer window closes.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that the 24-year-old Arsenal man is on the Hammers’ radar this summer.

We have pushed the idea of the Arsenal ace being a potential signing for the East London outfit since last year right here on Hammers News.

West Ham boss David Moyes desperately needs to bring further reinforcements in to the London Stadium before the summer transfer window slams shut.

The Hammers players have made a truly shocking start to their 2022/23 campaign and changes are needed…fast.

Perhaps the 24-year-old would be the ideal man for the job…

West Ham eyeing Ainsley Maitland-Niles

The Daily Mail reckon that the Hammers could swoop in for the Arsenal man this summer. We think he’d be a great addition for the club.

Maitland-Niles earns around £52k-a-week at the Emirates (Spotrac). So agreeing personal terms with the five-capped England international should not be a problem for West Ham.

The Goodmayes born ace has energy, pace, power and athleticism in abundance. He embodies everything that the modern day player needs to succeed.

He would provide stiff competition for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in the middle of the park at the London Stadium.

The 24-year-old can play in both full-back positions and in more advanced roles as well.

Arsenal could demand around £20 million for Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Daily Mail), and signing him for that kind of fee should be an absolute no-brainer for West Ham, considering how many different roles he can fulfil.

Mikel Arteta is ready to sanction the 24-year-old’s exit from the Emirates this summer (The Express).

So perhaps he could be available for even less than the quoted £20 million fee, who knows.

Either way, West Ham signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer would be a very good thing in my view.

And he’d certainly add some real quality and competition in numerous different positions at the London Stadium.
