West Ham United are now in negotiations to sign RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka for €20 million (£18 million) according to an exclusive report from Transfer 20.
Hammers boss David Moyes urgently needs to bring a new centre-forward to the London Stadium.
Sebastien Haller left for Ajax last week leaving Michail Antonio as the club’s only senior centre-forward.
The Ivorian was sold for around £20.2 million (BT). So Moyes does at least have some funds at his disposal now.
West Ham have already been linked with a whole host of names.
Yesterday, The Mirror broke the news that the Hammers are eyeing up a move for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
West Ham ready to spend big on Patson Daka?
And now Transfer 20 suggest that the east London club are actually in negotiations with RB Salzburg to sign the 22-year-old hitman for around £18 million.
Daka would be an absolutely sensational addition for the Hammers for that price.
The 22-year-old has been in superb form for the Austrian side this season, racking up 15 goals in 17 games in all competitions. He has scored 57 goals in 129 career appearances – a remarkable record for someone so young (Transfermarkt).
The Salzburg ace possess blistering pace, incredible movement and is a constant menace for opposing defenders. He is as strong as an ox as well.
If West Ham do sign Patson Daka for £18 million it would be outstanding business. We won’t get our hopes up just yet, however.
