West Ham are leading the race to sign Stade Reims striker Boulaye Dia according to a report from 90 Min. And Liverpool ace Sadio Mane’s recent praise of the forward should be enough to excite the Hammers fans.

West Ham boss boss David Moyes undoubtedly needs to strengthen his centre-forward options at the London Stadium in January.

Michail Antonio is currently out injured and the jury is still out on Sebastien Haller.

The problem is that the Hammers will have limited funds at their disposal in January.

There could be a shining light on the horizon, however.

90 Min claims that West Ham are leading the race to sign Boulaye Dia and Stade Reims are very keen to sell because of the financial effects of the global health crisis.

So perhaps we will be able to pick up the 24-year-old for a bargain fee next month.

The Senegal international has been in superb form this season with nine goals in 14 Ligue 1 games for Stade Reims (Transfermarkt).

He is clearly very highly thought of.

Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane raved about Boulaye Dia recently when speaking to France 3:

“I didn’t know him before. But since the start of the season I’ve been following him, and I’m really impressed by his qualities. I think he won’t stay at Reims forever, believe me!”

A glowing referral indeed from one of the world’s best players.

It seems as though the 24-year-old is ready to take the next step in his career. Moving from Ligue 1 to the Premier League would undoubtedly be a big challenge for Boulaye Dia. He is more than ready for it, however, judging by Sadio Mane’s comments.

And the Senegalese attacker might just be a real hit at West Ham, if Moyes does indeed bring him to the London Stadium in January.
