According to a report from Spanish media outlet Estadio Deportivo, West Ham are keen on signing Real Betis ace Víctor Camarasa this summer.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan in the Premier League with Cardiff City.
And he impressed for the Bluebirds, racking up five goals and four assists 32 Premier League appearances.
He could be a useful addition for the Hammers, if Manuel Pellegrini does in fact bring him to the London Stadium.
The Spaniard is comfortable in possession, and possesses great technique.
Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo claims that Camarasa could be available for just €25 million (£23 million) this summer, and in today’s market, that would represent excellent value for West Ham.
The question must be asked, however…do the Hammers actually need another central midfielder?
Pellegrini already has Declan Rice, Jack Wilshere, Mark Noble, Pablo Fornals and Carlos Sanchez to choose from.
So surely the £23 million would be better off spent elsewhere.
Camarasa is a good player, that can’t be denied.
The thing is, however, West Ham don’t actually need him.
