According to a report from Football Insider, West Ham have submitted a loan-to-buy offer for Inter Milan hitman Gabriel Barbosa.

The Hammers are extremely short up front.

Sebastien Haller arrived in the summer for big money from Eintracht Frankfurt, but he has struggled to establish himself in the Premier League.

Last season, the 25-year-old thrived when playing alongside Luka Jovic, so having someone like Barbosa at West Ham could do the Frenchman the world of good.

Football Insider claims that the Hammers have multiple agents working on a deal to bring the prolific Brazilian to the London Stadium this month, and it is suggested that they have have already submitted a loan-to-buy offer for him.

Would be a great signing

There is obviously still a long way to go before West Ham actually sign Gabigol.

But it seems as though everything is moving in the right direction.

The Inter ace would provide excellent support for Haller, and the pair could form a deadly partnership together.

Barbosa seems to have all of the attributes needed to succeed in England. He is strong in possession, tenacious and never stops running. His style of play is similar to that of Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.

Calcio Mercato claims that Inter want around €30 million (£25.4 million) for the 23-year-old South American.

And in this day and age, that would represent excellent value for money for West Ham.
