According to a report from Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset, West Ham have had a €14 million (£11.8 million) bid rejected for Sampdoria ace Ronaldo Vieira.
Reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee broke the news yesterday that the east London outfit are keen to bring the former Leeds United man back to England this month.
The 21-year-old joined the Serie A outfit from the Whites in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £6.2 million, according to the Guardian.
And the young central midfielder has been a hit with Sampdoria, making 34 appearances in the process.
After Ex’s exclusive last night, Italian publication Sport Mediaset have followed up with their report claiming that West Ham have actually submitted a £11.8 million offer for Vieira today – one that was subsequently rejected by the Blucerchiati.
Whether West Ham will go back in with another offer for the 21-year-old remains to be seen.
The Hammers should seriously consider it, however. The former Leeds man is exactly the kind of player the east London outfit need.
He is tenacious in the tackle, has bundles of energy, and possesses a real level of athleticism that West Ham so desperately crave in the middle of the park.
Vieira could be a very useful addition to David Moyes’s side, but the Hammers tempting Sampdoria into selling seems unlikely at present.
