Hammers fans are desperate for David Moyes to sign an established striker before the transfer window slams shut tonight.

If West Ham fail to bring in another front-man before tonight’s 11pm deadline, we may as well kiss our hopes of a top six finish goodbye.

Michail Antonio, as good as he is, quite simply cannot be relied upon to stay fit for the remainder of the campaign.

West Ham eyeing goalkeeper swoop?

It seems as though Hammers fans could be left disappointed.

David Moyes suggested yesterday that it’s highly unlikely that any players will be arriving at the London Stadium today.

Sport Express claims that Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Aleksandr Maksimenko is on West Ham’s radar, however.

It is not made clear whether the Hammers are planning a swoop for the 22-year-old today or in the summer.

Despite his tender years, Maksimenko is already fairly experienced. He has played 89 games for Spartak Moscow, letting in 104 goals and keeping 26 clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).

The young Russian is clearly a top class talent. Let’s have it right though. Signing a goalkeeper and failing to bring in a striker on deadline day would be absolute madness.

If West Ham sign a striker and bring in Maksimenko in the summer, it would be good business.

We all know that’s unlikely to happen, however.

Everyone’s #GSBOUT today right?
