West Ham are one of four Premier League clubs keen on signing Marcus Forss, according to TEAMtalk.
Brentford are braced for interest in their promising youngster this January. West Ham could compete with Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Watford for Forss when the transfer window reopens.
Forss is currently out on loan at AFC Wimbledon in League One. But his electric form in front of goal has caught the eye of a number of admirers. Brentford want to recall Forss in January but they could lose him permanently.
Who is Marcus Forss?
Forss is proving his goalscoring credentials with regular playing time in League One. The 20-year-old has scored seven goals already in just eight games for Wimbledon. This included a hat-trick against Southend United but he has also received one red card.
Brentford signed Forss on a free transfer in 2017 after West Brom released him. After impressing in the B team, he has played 12 senior games and already scored three goals for the Bees.
Forss’ spell with Wimbledon is his first taste of regular senior football. Despite the Dons being in a relegation battle, Forss has been the standout performer in South West London.
West Ham have a bit of a striker problem at the moment and Manuel Pellegrini might look at the Finland U21 starlet to fix this. Aside from Sebastien Haller, West Ham have limited options in the striker department.
Albian Ajeti is not yet up to speed with English football and Michail Antonio is out until the new year. Pellegrini sold several strikers in the summer but could bring in Forss to add to his forward options.
