West Ham are keen on signing Queens Park Rangers ace Ryan Manning, according to London Football News.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, both West Ham and Watford are mulling over swoops. Manning could be available for a bargain price this January.
However, QPR reportedly have an option to extend his contract. This would give them some protection against the Premier League duo. But West Ham could still move.
Who is Ryan Manning?
Manning is a versatile player who started off in midfield. But this season, Mark Warburton has transformed him into a full-back. He currently plays at left-back and has made that position his own at Loftus Road.
The 23-year-old provided an assist for Jordan Hugill – on loan from West Ham – at the weekend. This was his third assist of the season and he also has one goal to his name in 2019/20.
He now has four goals and six assists for the Hoops. The Irishman has also spent time with Mervue United, Galway United and Rotherham United during his career. Watford and West Ham seem interested in bringing him to the top-flight now.
If West Ham signed Manning, it is unclear whether Manuel Pellegrini would keep him at left-back or promote him into the midfield. Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku have both signed new long-term contracts and Manning would struggle to replace West Ham’s wingers.
