According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, West Ham and Spurs are interested in signing Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat in January.
The versatile central midfielder is currently on loan with Hellas Verona from Club Brugge.
He can also play in central defence or at right-back
At 23, he still has plenty of years left ahead of him, and he can obviously still improve a lot.
Amrabat seems to already have all of the basic ingredients needed to succeed in the Premier League, however.
He is tenacious in the tackle, has an impressive range of passing and plays with a certain kind of maturity that defies his tender years.
Italian publication Calcio Mercato claims that West Ham and Tottenham are both paying close attention to the eight-capped Morocco international.
It is claimed that Club Brugge will demand at least €7 million (£6 million) for Amrabat. West Ham and Tottenham won’t have things all their own way, however. Inter Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina and Napoli are also allegedly interested in the 23-year-old.
In today’s market, £6 million for the Brugges-owned ace would be a real snip.
Whether the Hammers and Spurs will be able to tempt him into a move to England, however, remains to be seen.
Amrabat is also unproven in England, however. So signing him would represent somewhat of a risk for both clubs.
