According to a report from French media outlet Foot Mercato, West Ham and Newcastle are both prepared to pay Porto ace Moussa Marega’s €30 million (£27 million) release clause.

The Hammers have already spent £45 million on Sebastien Haller. Whilst the Magpies have parted with £40 million to bring Joelinton to St James’ Park.

It could be argued that both clubs need to sign another striker, however, if they are to achieve success this season.

And Marega could be just the ticket for either West Ham or Newcastle.

The 28-year-old boasts an impressive goal record.

He bagged 21 goals last season, and 23 the season before that.

Marega is vastly experienced in playing at the very highest level. And he seems to possess all of the physical attributes required in order to succeed in the Premier League.

The Mali international is an extremely capable front-man. And in today’s day and age, £27 million seems to be great value for a player of his calibre.

Whether he would prefer to join West Ham or Newcastle, however, remains to be seen.
