Hammers technical director Tim Steidten returns to the scene of the crime in bid to split up English brothers and bring one to West Ham.
It says everything about the impact of Tim Steidten at West Ham that the technical director has his own terrace chant.
And that very chant centres around his greatest triumph yet in his role at West Ham.
Or should that be his greatest crime – because getting Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez from Dutch giants Ajax for just £72 combined is a steal by modern prices.
It is fair to say the Hammers took Ajax’s two best players in Kudus and Alvarez.
Evidenced by the fact the club has descended into crisis ever since.

Steidten returns to the scene of the crime
Well now Steidten is returning to the scene of the crime in a bid to split up English brothers for a West Ham deal.
That’s according to an exclusive report from TeamTalk, which claims the Hammers’ recruitment chief is eyeing one of the young goalkeeping brotherly duo Charlie and Tommy Setford from Ajax.
Charlie, 19, and Tommy, 17, both play for Ajax having been born close to the Dutch capital.
The pair are the sons of a former pro-golfer who lived in the Netherlands, but despite spending all their lives living there, they both have chosen to represent England.

Hammers chief wants to split up English brothers
Steidten’s problem is that the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested.
Although some of the interest from other clubs is in both brothers. And that may actually work in West Ham’s favour because the goalkeeping duo may feel they stand a better chance of making it if they are not in direct competition with one another at the same club.
“TEAMtalk can now reveal that a number of English clubs are keeping close tabs on the Setford’s with Chelsea looking at both,” the report states.
“TEAMtalk also understand that Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham have been looking closely at Charlie, whilst Tottenham and Newcastle have been doing their work on Tommy.”
Charlie Setford is yet to make his senior debut but is part of the first-team set-up and has been included in Eredivisie and Champions League squads. The 19-year-old has also featured for England at Under-18 level.
With Lukasz Fabianski in the swansong of his West Ham career, it is understandable the club is looking at the future of its goalkeeping department.
West Ham fans know if Steidten gets on that plane, he usually gets what he wants.
