The Hammers are a club in crisis at the moment.
The fans are revolting and even some of the players are piling in as well. Mark Noble, Rice, Jack Wilshere and Arthur Masuaku were just some of the names who took to Twitter to vent their frustrations after Grady Diangana was sold to West Brom yesterday.
There is only one way that this summer will get any worse. And that is if Declan Rice is moved on.
Chelsea allegedly want to sign the brilliant 21-year-old this summer, and are prepared to pay a whopping £70 million for his services (The Express).
Rice has to be kept at the club
Regardless of the massive fee that we would undoubtedly receive, however, we quite simply cannot sell another one of our talented youngsters. Not this summer at least.
And the Athletic has provided us with some good news by suggesting that the Hammers are becoming increasingly more confident that Rice will stay at the London Stadium this summer.
We all know that David Sullivan and David Gold have the ability to shock, however. And it would still be no surprise if Rice were moved on before the end of the transfer window.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed, however. Surely it won’t get any worse this summer.
Although surely no one could blame Dec if he actually decided to leave.
