According to a report from Football.London, Jeremy Ngakia is nailed on to leave West Ham this summer, after the club were too slow to act in offering him a new deal.

The 19-year-old Hammers starlet has been a breath of fresh air for the club since storming onto the scene in January.

Ngakia had been starring for the club’s under-23 side before making his breakthrough into the first-team.

Ryan Fredericks suffered an injury at the start of the year, and Pablo Zabaleta was expected to fill in for the former Fulham man.

But David Moyes opted to give Ngakia his chance instead. And he didn’t disappoint.

Stats

In four Premier League appearances for West Ham thus far, the teenager has racked up 12 tackles, six interceptions, 13 clearances and 13 ball recoveries (premierleague.com).

The 19-year-old has taken to top flight football like a duck to water. And he has been more than comfortable mixing it with seasoned pros.

Hammers fans instantly took to Ngakia. It seemed as though he would be the latest young star to be brought through the ranks at the London Stadium.

But Claret and Hugh claimed last month that the teenager could leave West Ham for free at the end of June after refusing the club’s new contract offer.

And now Football.London suggest that Ngakia is nailed on to leave the Hammers.

That is obviously terrible news for West Ham. And they only have themselves to blame.

Football.London states that the east London side were advised to offer the youngster a lucrative new contract when other clubs were sniffing around him in January.

They obviously didn’t act then. And now it could be too late. Losing Nagkia for nothing would be a sign of terrible mis-management from the very top. And it must be something that West Ham learn from in the future.
