Jose Mourinho has not wasted any time as Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Despite only just joining the North London club, Mourinho has drawn up a list of targets. The former Manchester United boss has told Daniel Levy that he wants to sign three players.
According to The Independent, Nemanja Matic, Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Dias are Mourinho’s targets. The new Spurs manager could be set for a battle with West Ham for Matic.
West Ham also want Nemanja Matic
West Ham have recently been linked with Matic. According to 90min, the Hammers want to sign the Serbia international to add experience and defensive stability to the midfield.
In his prime, Matic was one of the best holding midfield players in the Premier League. This is why Mourinho brought him to Chelsea and then re-signed him when he moved to Man United.
Now, the experienced Premier League manager wants to sign Matic yet again. He believes the 31-year-old could add a different dimension to Tottenham’s current midfield.
It is unclear how serious West Ham are about Matic, especially after the board said there would no longer be any older signings. He is likely to be on high wages and he is past his best. It might be a blessing in disguise if Mourinho wins this race.
