Huddersfield Town are taking a look at former West Ham midfielder Moses Makasi on trial, according to The Huddersfield Examiner.

Makasi was released by West Ham at the end of last season. And his search for a new club has earned him a trial with Huddersfield.

The young midfielder has been on trail for the last week. Jan Siewert has taken a closer look at Makasi and he will head abroad for pre-season training.

Huddersfield are heading to Austria with the rest of his potential future team-mates. If he impresses, the Terriers could offer him a deal ahead of their Championship campaign.

West Ham decided to release Makasi at the end of last season after he failed to make the step up from youth football to senior football.

The 23-year-old played nearly 100 times for West Ham’s U23 team and captained them on several occasions. But he never earned a senior appearance for the Hammers.

Makasi spent time out on loan with Chelmsford, Plymouth Argyle and Stevenage while he was at West Ham. He played seven times for Plymouth and 14 times for Stevenage, impressing at both.

However, West Ham felt he was not ready for a big step up. After being released, Makasi is hoping to forge a successful career with Huddersfield a potential destination.
