West Ham United have been linked with an ambitious move for Southampton striker Danny Ings this summer.

Last month The Sun reported West Ham want Ings.
And reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee claimed David Moyes could try to sign Ings in the next window, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast.
West Ham’s lack of striker options is well documented.

West Ham’s lack of striker options well documented
Particularly since the Hammers offloaded Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January.
Moyes elected to keep the money from the sale of Haller to try and sign a forward he wants this summer.
But a report from Sky Sports has made a new claim of rival Premier League interest in the 28-year-old which – if true – could be the death knell for West Ham’s hopes of landing him.
That’s because Sky Sports claim champions-elect Man City want Ings as a ‘more attainable option’ than Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland.

Report’s new claim will have massive bearing on West Ham’s chances of signing Ings this summer
One of the reasons West Ham were said to be interested in Ings was the fact he was at an impasse over a new contract – which runs out at the end of next season.
But Sky Sports claims that puts Man City in the driving seat ahead of the likes of West Ham when it comes to potential Premier League suitors.
“His contract situation at St Mary’s also puts City in a strong position; he is about to enter the final year of his deal and has so far not agreed to sign new terms that have been on offer for some time,” Sky Sports report.
“With Haaland also wanted by Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and others, and his market value said to be £100m, Ings has been identified as a more attainable option by the champions-elect.”

Moyes has five striker shortlist says reliable insider
If City’s interest in Ings is genuine then West Ham need to start looking elsewhere asap.
According to ExWHUemployee Moyes has a five striker shortlist for the summer.
The names believed to be on there are Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham, Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, Slavia Prague’s Abdallah Sima, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Blackburn’s Adam Armstrong.
