Report makes claim about Liverpool striker Divock Origi as West Ham deadline day continues to frustrate

Liverpool striker Divock Origi allegedly will not be joining West Ham United on transfer deadline day.

Origi faces an uncertain future at Anfield and could leave with Luis Diaz set to join Liverpool from Porto.

Hammers boss David Moyes is well-known to be in the lookout for a new centre-forward.

West Ham cannot continue to rely upon Michail Antonio as our only option through the middle.

Your Club's CRUEL Transfer Decision This Month

It’s unfair on him as a player and for a club with aspirations of challenging for honours both domestically and on the continent, having one striker quite simply isn’t good enough.

Hopefully that will all change between now and 11pm tonight.

However, it appears as though Liverpool striker Divock Origi will not be rocking up at the London Stadium anytime soon.

Liverpool striker Origi won’t be joining West Ham on deadline day

According to a report from the Daily Mail (live transfer feed, January 31st, 9:25 am), the 26-year-old Reds hitman will not be joining the Hammers before the January transfer window closes.

If that is indeed true, it would be fair to assume that David Moyes doesn’t want Origi at West Ham.

That’s because Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is prepared to allow the 26-year-old to leave Anfield on deadline day (The Mirror).

We have to say, that really is a baffling decision.

West Ham need someone who is an established goalscorer to provide some adequate competition and cover for Michail Antonio.

Dharmesh Sheth (Sky Sports News The Transfer Show on Thursday evening) claimed that the Reds could sell the Belgian for just £10 million.

He can play anywhere along the front-line, is willing to put in a real shift and has proven that he can produce the goods at the very highest level.

Origi scored a goal in the Champions League final back in 2019 so he certainly knows how to perform on the biggest stage.

The Liverpool hitman possesses a real burst of acceleration and perhaps if given regular game-time at West Ham, everyone would start to see the best of the Belgian. Origi has five goals and two assists to his name in 10 games for the Reds this season (Transfermarkt).

It appears as though the former Lille striker won’t be heading to East London on deadline day though.

And that will only be acceptable if Moyes manages to bring in a top-class centre-forward today.
