West Ham striker Lucas Perez wants to leave the club this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media. Estadio Deportivo claims Perez wants to return to Spain.

And a move to 10th-place Real Betis is one of Perez’s options. Betis tried to sign Perez in the January transfer window but failed to land him (The Daily Mail).

Ex-Southampton striker Juanmi is another option for Real Betis. If the Spanish side land Juanmi from Real Sociedad, they could drop their interest in Perez.

West Ham signed Perez from Arsenal towards the end of the summer 2018 transfer window. The 30-year-old had scored seven goals for Arsenal and had just returned from a loan spell at Deportivo La Coruna.

But Perez has failed to break into the first-team on a regular basis. Manuel Pellegrini has clearly preferred Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and even Andy Carroll when fit this season.

As a result, Perez has been limited to just 19 appearances in all competitions. His goal return has not been too bad with six strikes to his name.

But after being snubbed several times this season, the Spaniard wants to return to La Liga. West Ham cannot guarantee Perez first-team game time. And a summer exit looms.
