West Ham winger Felipe Anderson is one of several players Liverpool are considering this summer, according to The Daily Mail.
After just falling short of the Premier League title, Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his options. He believes Anderson would provide quality and depth to Liverpool’s ranks.
West Ham signed Anderson from Lazio last summer for a club-record fee of £36m (BBC Sport). And the Hammers are not willing to sell him this summer. The East Londoners will dig their heels in and knock back bids for their prized asset.
Felipe Anderson: impressive debut season
Anderson has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in England. The Brazilian winger returned tallies of 10 goals and five assists in 40 matches.
Operating on the left flank, Anderson got fans off their seats at times with his skill, pace and eye for goal. Consistency was an issue but that could be ironed out next season.
He also received a recall to the Brazil squad due to his exciting displays in claret and blue. West Ham hope that the 26-year-old will kick on next season after adjusting to life in England.
Liverpool have now been linked with Anderson ahead of the summer window. The Reds like the fact that he is proven in the Premier League. But West Ham will try to keep Anderson in East London for next season.
