According to a report from The Athletic, Liverpool have made an enquiry for West Ham United centre-back Issa Diop.

Hammers boss David Moyes is looking to strengthen his options at the London Stadium rather than weaken them before the transfer window closes.
Centre-back is one position where West Ham are fairly well stocked, however.
We have Angelo Ogbonna, Craig Dawson and Fabian Balbuena all performing to incredibly high levels.

Issa Diop has hardly played this season.
So perhaps a loan move away from the London Stadium would be the right decision for both the Frenchman and West Ham.
Liverpool want Issa Diop
The Athletic claims that the Hammers are not prepared to sanction a loan deal, however, unless there is an obligation to buy for £20 million plus included in the terms.
Liverpool desperately need central defensive reinforcements if they are to retain the Premier League title this season.

Whether Diop is the man for the job, however, is debatable.
The 24-year-old undoubtedly has the talent, but is he really good enough to produce the goods for Jurgen Klopp?
The former Toulouse ace’s decision making is really poor. It is something that will perhaps improve with experience.
Liverpool need to bring an established centre-back to Anfield for the here and now though.
Diop may well go on to become one of the world’s best. He’s not at that level right now, however.
The Hammers should certainly consider loaning the Frenchman out before the transfer window closes. We just don’t think a move to Anfield would be the right move for the player, West Ham or Liverpool.
