A report has just made a truly bizarre claim about West Ham United and our pursuit of Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria.
According to the Mirror, West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Deniz Zakaria from Juventus for a bargain fee in the summer transfer window.

Nothing bizarre really in that of course – but it is the reported fee that is the strange thing.

It seems as though Hammers boss David Moyes could be set to sign Zakaria for a whole lot cheaper than that though…
Report has made a truly bizarre claim about West Ham and Denis Zakaria
According to the Mirror, the Hammers are on the verge of signing the 26-year-old ex-Chelsea midfielder for just £8 million.
Now, that really is out of the blue. If true, £8 million would be a real bargain fee for Zakaria.
I have said on numerous occasions before that the Swiss midfielder is nowhere near good enough to replace Declan Rice on his own, but he would be a good addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

He has pace and power in abundance, and his impressive engine would add more dynamism to the Hammers’ midfield.
Denis Zakaria would be a smart acquisition for West Ham this summer, especially for only £8 million.
However, I do have my doubts that the fee will be that low. It just seems like too much of a drop off from the original price that was reported.
I would suspect that the fee would end up being closer to £15 million. Let’s hope I’m wrong though!
