The Hammers could be in somewhat of a tight financial position when Premier League action eventually resumes, according to ExWHUemployee.

The current global health crisis is affecting every aspect of life. And it appears as though football will not be immune.

And Football Insider claims that David Sullivan could attempt to balance the books by selling Felipe Anderson this summer. It is all claimed, however, that the 71-year-old wants to keep hold of Declan Rice.

Both players have been linked with an exit from West Ham recently. But there is no doubt which one out of the two has been more important for the Hammers since the start of the season.

Chalk and cheese

Anderson has been in poor form this season. The 27-year-old has racked up just one goal and five assists in 24 games for West Ham this season (Transfermarkt).

Having said that, on his day, the Brazilian is still one of David Moyes’s best players.

Rice, meanwhile, has been in great form. The 21-year-old is undoubtedly a leading contender for the Hammer of the Year award.

And if West Ham fans could choose which player to sell out of the two, they would inevitably go for Anderson.

Rice key for West Ham’s future

The seven-capped England international is such a key player for the Hammers.

And he is the kind of talent West Ham boss David Moyes should be looking to build his side around.

The problem for the east London outfit will be if a team like Manchester United or Chelsea come in with a massive offer for Rice.

It will be incredibly hard for West Ham to keep hold of the 21-year-old. Especially given the financial ramifications caused by the global health crisis.

Hammers fans will be praying that Sullivan holds firm, however, and doesn’t allow Rice to leave without a fight.
