If the Hammers are to sign the 19-year-old Blues starlet, however, we will need to make Craig Dawson’s loan deal permanent.

West Ham are expected to be busy in the transfer market over the next few days.

Signing a new striker is still our priority, whilst Jesse Lingard is expected to join the club before the weekend (The Mirror).

The Blues ace is the latest name to be linked with the Hammers.

The Mirror claims that David Moyes is interested to see whether the 19-year-old central midfielder is part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans at Stamford Bridge this season.

Bringing the teenager to the London Stadium would be a really interesting move from West Ham.

Central midfield is undoubtedly an area where we need to strengthen. And if the Hammers do make Dawson’s loan deal permanent, much like we did with Said Benrahma in order to facilitate the Lingard loan deal, signing Billy Gimlour would be a smart move.

He is young and hungry with a lot to prove.

The 19-year-old has so much quality as well. He is a very neat and tidy player and has racked up 20 goals and 14 assists in 78 appearances for Chelsea’ youth teams (Transfermarkt).

Moyes is slowly but surely changing the culture of the club. And making a signing like this would further illustrate how much progress we are making.
