According to a report from Le Quotidien du Foot, West Ham could sign Amiens hitman Serhou Guirassy for just €10 million (£9 million) in the summer, but they could face competition from relegation rivals Aston Villa.
The Sun reported back in February that the Hammers are keen to sign the 24-year-old striker.
West Ham will surely be looking to sign a new striker when the transfer window re-opens. And so will Aston Villa.
Le Quotidien du Foot claims that Guirassy could be available for just £9 million this summer.
So would he be a good signing for either the Hammers or the Villans?
The Frenchman has scored eight goals in 22 Ligue 1 outings for Amiens so far this season. In total, he has scored 37 goals in 148 career club appearances (Transfermarkt).
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Guirassy is strong in the air. In 22 league games this season, he has won an average of 4.1 aerial duals per game (Who Scored).
In those outings, the Amiens hitman averages 1.9 shots, 0.7 dribbles and 0.6 key passes per game (Who Scored).
Guirassy is clearly not the most prolific of strikers. But he does always put in a shift and is a real handful for opposing defenders.
And he might just be a decent option for either West Ham or Aston Villa for the reported fee of just £9 million.
