West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay to replace Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from talkSPORT, Scott McTominay has been told that he can leave Manchester United this summer, with West Ham eyeing up a move to sign him in the summer transfer window.

The East London outfit have been linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old Man United midfielder on numerous occasions – most recently just last month.

Hammers manager David Moyes will be desperate to bring a top-class central midfielder to the London Stadium this summer.

And it seems as though the Manchester United star could be the man for the job…

talkSPORT reckon that the Man United midfielder is firmly on the Hammers’ radar.

I think that McTominay would be a really good signing for West Ham.

Whilst the 26-year-old is not as good as Declan Rice, and in no way should be viewed as the 24-year-old’s direct replacement, he would be a really strong addition to Moyes’s squad.

The Scottish midfielder has energy and stamina in abundance and is a tireless worker. He is strong as an ox, tenacious in the tackle and quick along the ground.

He has been described as a superb player by Man United’s official website.

On face value, he possesses all of the attributes that West Ham manager David Moyes usually looks for in a player.

It is worth noting that Manchester United value the Scotland international at around £40 million (ESPN). I’m just not sure that would represent good value for the Hammers.

And if West Ham do sign Scott McTominay, it would have to be for around £30 million in order for it to be a deal worth doing for us in my opinion.
