West Ham could pick Chelsea ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek up on the cheap before tomorrow’s deadline, according to a report from the Sun.
In other news…Report: Moyes lines up move to bring 30-year-old on £40k-a-week to West Ham
According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Hammers are one of the favourites to sign the 24-year-old England international this summer.
But Loftus-Cheek’s mammoth wages were always going to represent a problem.
But the Sun now claims that Chelsea are willing to pay £100,000 per week towards the midfielder’s alleged £173k-a-week wages, with Frank Lampard desperate for the powerful star to gain some regular first-team action this season.
And that will surely help West Ham boss David Moyes bring Loftus-Cheek to the London Stadium from Stamford Bridge.
The Scot needs to bolster his central defensive and centre-forward ranks. But we are fairly light in the middle of the park as well.
And the 10-capped England international would be a great addition for us, albeit on loan.
Stats
The 24-year-old barely played last season having sustained a serious injury in the summer of 2019.
He did enjoy a fabulous campaign in the 2018/19 season, however, racking up 10 goals and five assists for Chelsea in 35 appearances (Who Scored).
And if West Ham only have to pay £73,000 per week in order to sign Loftus-Cheek for a season, it really should be a no brainer for us.
