West Ham United want to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah this summer according to a report from the Daily Star.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to strengthen his centre-forward options at the London Stadium this summer.

We currently have Michail Antonio as our only senior recognised centre-forward.

Mipo Odubeko is far too rough around the edges, despite his outstanding potential. And the teenager needs a loan move away from West Ham next season.

So the addition of two established strikers really should be Moyes’s priority this summer.

West Ham eyeing move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

The Daily Star claims that the Hammers want to sign the Gunners ace. In fact, he is allegedly on a three-man striker shortlist of potential targets for the East London outfit.

Mikel Arteta is ready to let the 21-year-old Arsenal ace leave the Emirates this summer (Football.London).

Nketiah’s contract with Arsenal expires in the summer of 2022. So if he fails to sign a new deal, the Gunners will surely want to move him on this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing in 12 months time.

Arsenal are said to value Nketiah at around £30 million (talkSPORT). That asking price will sure tumble with every week that passes now, however, with the 21-year-old heading into the final 12 months of his contract.

Eddie has been far from prolific at senior level. He has scored just 17 goals in 79 combined appearances for the Gunners and Leeds (Transfermarkt).

The young striker does have an exceptional record at youth level, however with 46 goals in 58 games for the Gunners’ under-18’s and under-23’s ((Transfermarkt).

Nketiah has outstanding potential. If we’re being honest, however, West Ham kind of need a striker for the here and now.

The Hammers signing Nketiah from Arsenal would be fine if we brought another top class forward in as well.

Let’s just hope that the West Ham board are prepared to adequately back David Moyes in the transfer market this summer.

Nketiah wouldn’t be a bad addition, as long as he isn’t the only attacking arrival this summer.
