According to a report from Area Napoli, West Ham United are prepared to pay €25 million (£22.3 million) for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
Area Napoli claims that if the Hammers are unable to sign the 22-year-old Ghanaian, however, Napoli hitman Arkadiusz Milik is our second choice.
David Moyes will undoubtedly be frantically searching for a new striker.
The Scot needs to add an established hitman to his ranks before the transfer window slams shut.
Michail Antonio is West Ham’s only recognised senior striker at the moment. So our need for another forward is clear and obvious to see.
Area Napoli claims that West Ham are moving quickly and have identified RB Salzburg ace Patson Daka as their number one priority.
The Hammers are allegedly prepared to pay £22.3 million for the 22-year-old speed-demon.
If West Ham fail in the pursuit of the Ghanaian, however, we could move for Napoli hitman Arkadiusz Milik instead (Area Napoli).
Daka would be the better option, however.
West Ham intent on signing Patson Daka?
Whether £22.3 million will be enough to prise the pacy front-man away from Salzburg remains to be seen.
He is absolutely ideal for us, however, and we should be going all out to sign him.
The 22-year-old has been in superb form for the Austrian side this season, racking up 15 goals in 17 games in all competitions. He has scored 57 goals in 129 career appearances – a remarkable record for someone so young (Transfermarkt).
The Salzburg ace possess blistering pace, incredible movement and is a constant menace for opposing defenders. He is as strong as an ox as well.
If West Ham can pick the 22-year-old up for just over £22 million it will be sensational business for the club.
We need to get this one done. It really is as simple as that. There are no excuses anymore.
