A new report claims Burnley set to sign alleged West Ham striker target Wout Weghorst as the clock ticks down on the January transfer window.
West Ham and Burnley need to sign a striker for very different reasons this month.
The Hammers are in a heated battle for the top four, have made it to the last 16 of the Europa League and – barring a huge shock – should make it through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Burnley meanwhile have sold Chris Wood and need more firepower in their bid to stay up.
West Ham supporters are hugely frustrated that the club has – as yet – failed to sign a forward given how much the Hammers have to play for in the second half of the season.
Indeed David Moyes has admitted himself he has been trying to bring a new striker to West Ham for two years without success.

West Ham have been linked with a plethora of strikers since selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax last January.
One of those is Dutch forward Wout Weghorst who plays his football for Wolfsburg (Calcio Mercato).

As is the way in the modern world we live in, social media can often whip football fans into a frenzy.
Weghorst suddenly started following West Ham on social and several other Hammers-related accounts leading to intense speculation he could be on his way to east London in the January window.
The striker, who has scored 159 goals in 370 games for club and country, also started following former West Ham striker Sebastien Haller – the man he would theoretically replace if he did join the Hammers in January.

But now it seems he could be on his way to another team who wear claret and blue – Burnley.
A host of sources – including The Daily Mail and Burnley Express claim a deal is very much in the offing to take the alleged West Ham target to Turf Moor.
“Burnley are in talks with Wolfsburg over a deal for prolific Holland international striker Wout Weghorst,” The Daily Mail reports.
“The 6ft6′ Weghorst, 29, wants to come to the Premier League and Burnley are trying to agree terms after talks with Wolfsburg initially broke down last week.”

West Ham would surely not lose out to Burnley in the race to sign a striker, would they?
The only explanation can be that Moyes has moved on from Weghorst and is eyeing other potential forward signings, perhaps younger, quicker players.
A big, powerful striker, Weghorst would certainly suit Burnley’s style of play. Although it could also be argued he would be an excellent weapon for West Ham, who boast the best set piece scoring record in the Premier League.
It would be a real coup for Burnley.
Meanwhile the clock continues to tick down on the transfer window and Moyes now has just four days left to get players in.
