West Ham target Zito Luvumbo is also being watched by Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Sport has run a story listing all of the players Barcelona will be scouting at the U17 World Cup. Luvumbo is on the list and described as an ‘African jewel’.
West Ham and Manchester United have recently been linked with Luvumbo. According to Sapo Desporto, both Premier League clubs will have scouts checking on the teenage winger at the U17 World Cup.
Back in August, Sapo Desporto claimed West Ham were rivalling Lille and Boavista for the Angolan starlet. But now Barcelona have entered the race to make West Ham’s task even harder.
Who is Zito Luvumbo?
Luvumbo is a highly-rated young winger, who can also play as a striker. The 18-year-old has already played two senior games for Angola but has dropped back down to the U17s for the World Cup.
The youngster currently plays for CD Primeiro de Agosto – a top-tier Angolan side based in the capital, Luanda. But with European clubs circling, it is only a matter of time before his move.
West Ham have been scouting Luvumbo and could try to swoop ahead of Barcelona and Man United. The lure of the Nou Camp will be tempting for Luvumbo, though. And he could follow the example of fellow countryman Manucho by joining Man United.
