West Ham have completed the signing of Millwall goalkeeper David Martin, whufc.com confirms. And this has left bitter rivals Millwall in a precarious position.

Millwall do not have a senior goalkeeper on their books. Jordan Archer and Tom King were released and now Martin has joined the Hammers on a two-year deal.

This is a real kick in the teeth for Millwall. Not only have they lost their most senior goalkeeper, but he has also decided to join archrivals West Ham and describe it as a “dream” move.

Unsurprisingly, this has riled Lions supporters. With the transfer window now open and pre-season starting soon, Millwall do not have a goalkeeper on their books.

Ryan Sandford and Joe Wright are Millwall’s top two options between the sticks but they are both young and without a senior game to their name. And Sandford is also out of contract soon – he has not penned a new deal yet.

The South London outfit now need to sign at least one new goalkeeper this summer to ensure they are ready for their 2019/20 Championship campaign.

Martin’s exit has left Millwall in the lurch and the fans are annoyed he has moved to become third choice at London rivals West Ham. Here are several frustrated tweets from Millwall supporters.
