PSG have given imminent West Ham majority owner Daniel Kretinsky a huge £112m dilemma straight off the bat with a double bid for Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville.

West Ham must raise between £100-150m to plug a financial black hole before the end of June.

The Hammers can do that through player sales or investment, either from new parties or current stakeholders injecting funds.

There is uncertainty around the club following the resignation of majority owner David Sullivan, who owns a 38.8 per cent share.

But it has been claimed Daniel Kretinsky, who has a 27 per cent holding, is on the cusp of becoming the new majority owner by either buying out Sullivan or the Gold family’s 25 per cent stake.

A leading journalist claimed Kretinsky has big plans for West Ham, which include keeping hold of some of the club’s top stars despite relegation to the Championship.

Now PSG have handed Kretinsky a major £112m dilemma with a bid for star West Ham duo Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville.

The Portuguese midfielder and Dutch World Cup winger are undoubtedly West Ham’s two most valuable and saleable assets given their talent, age and potential.

West Ham would wipe the floor with the Championship if they were to keep Fernandes and Summerville along with the likes of captain Jarrod Bowen.

But Kretinsky’s first order of business as the shot-caller in chief at West Ham will be to decide whether to sell Fernandes and Summerville to PSG.

According to reports from French outlets Foot Mercato and Get French Football News overnight, back-to-back European champions Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to offer West Ham €130m (£112.5m) to secure the services of 21-year-old all-action midfield ace Fernandes and 24-year-old Summerville.

PSG have been tracking Fernandes for some time and are rivalling Man United, Real Madrid, Arsenal and a host of other clubs in wanting to sign him.

Fernandes and Summerville bid is just £17.5m short of West Ham’s valuation

But news of the Parisians’ interest in Summerville is more surprising.

West Ham rate Fernandes at a minimum £80m while Summerville is valued at £50m – both double what the club paid for them from Southampton and Leeds respectively.

That leaves PSG around £17.5m off meeting West Ham’s valuations for a double deal – which is a good starting point for negotiations.

Hammers fans would undoubtedly find a double sale of two top players to an elite club abroad like PSG much more palatable than a Premier League team taking them off their hands.

PSG transfer chief Luis Campos is said to have already made contact with West Ham about the mega deal.

At present it is unclear who is conducting transfer business, either in or out, at West Ham after the resignation of de facto director of football Sullivan and – six weeks before – the departure of Karren Brady, who was responsible for conducting business between clubs.

The deal, especially if West Ham can squeeze the extra £17.5m out of PSG, would effectively solve West Ham’s financial issues overnight.

That could then leave Kretinsky free to inject funds for manager Nuno Espirito Santo to strengthen his squad for West Ham’s bid to win the Championship title.
