Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Gunners are actually the club showing the most interest in signing the 48-capped Ivory Coast international.

If Arsenal beat us to Kessie’s signature, it would be such a shame.

The 24-year-old would be the absolutely perfect addition for West Ham.

David Moyes is in desperate need of bolstering his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium.

The Scot needs to provide more competition and cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek as a matter of urgency.

West Ham losing out to Arsenal for Kessie?

Gazzetta dello Sport claims claims that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to bring the Ivorian to the Emirates this summer. In fact, Arsenal are thought to be showing the most interest in signing the midfielder.

If Kessie does end up with Arsenal, West Ham will be left licking their wounds. The AC Milan ace is exactly what we need.

In 37 Serie A appearances for AC Milan last season, Kessie racked up 13 goals and four assists. During those outings, he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 1.3 clearances per game. The 24-year-old averaged 53.9 passes per game with a hugely impressive completion rate of 88.9% (Who Scored).

Those really are some very impressive stats. Kessie is strong, a tenacious tackler and has real energy and drive. He seems to be tailor made for the robust and intense nature of the Premier League.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims claims that Milan could demand as much as €50 million (£44 million) for the 24-year-old.
