West Ham are reportedly ready to sell Ryan Fredericks, Albian Ajeti and Arthur Masuaku in the summer (Claret and Hugh).
There probably won’t be too many Hammers fans who would be sad to see any of those players leave.
And if West Ham manage to get decent fees for all three of them, they might just be in a good position to really strengthen and upgrade massively.
The Hammers have been linked with plenty of players already since January.
And the following three names would be huge upgrades on Fredericks, Masuaku and Ajeti…
Max Aarons
Talksport claimed earlier this year that West Ham want to sign the Norwich City ace. The 20-year-old has been in superb form for the Canaries this season.
In 27 Premier League outings for Norwich, he has racked up two assists and has averaged 1.3 tackles, 0.8 interceptions and 1.8 clearances per game (Who Scored).
And it is clear to see that he would be a huge upgrade on Fredericks.
Layvin Kurzawa
The experienced Frenchman is a target for West Ham, according to a report from the Sun. The 27-year-old is a top talent, and in 14 Ligue 1 outings for PSG this season, he has averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.1 clearances (Who Scored).
Kurzawa is a real threat going forward. He has 21 assists and 13 goals in 123 appearances for PSG (Transfermarkt).
And he is certainly better defensively than Masuaku.
Ollie Watkins
The Brentford hitman is wanted by West Ham according to the Sun.
The 24-year-old has been on fire this season, racking up 22 goals in 37 appearances for the Bees (Transfermarkt).
Watkins is a real live-wire, a constant menace and has bags of pace.
He would undoubtedly be a major upgrade on Ajeti.
Obviously a lot needs to happen before any of this materialises. But if West Ham do stay up, they will have a great opportunity to totally transform their team over the next few years.
