The recent coronavirus outbreak has plunged this season’s Premier League campaign into uncertainty. It could end up affecting who wins the league and who gets relegated. It could also have a part to play in some players’ futures. And one of them could be be West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko.
The 30-year-old joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be worth around £18 million (Football Insider).
Football Insider claimed earlier this year that West Ham could be prepared to sell Yarmolenko for a big loss this summer.
So with the current suspension of Premier League action, could the Ukraine international have already played his last game for the Hammers?
It would be reasonable to assume that he might well have done.

The 30-year-old has racked up just five goals and one assist in 24 Premier League games for the east London outfit. He also has recorded a shooting accuracy of just 41%. (premierleague.com).
Yarmolenko’s last appearance for West Ham came on December 14th against Southampton. He has only played 25 games for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium in the summer of 2018.
The 30-year-old is clearly very injury prone, and his form over the past 18 months warrants being sold.
If the transfer market opens before the Premier League action resumes, the Ukrainian could very well be sold, if reports are to be believed.
And there probably wouldn’t be too many West Ham fans who will be upset by that.
Yarmolenko’s career in the Premier League has been underwhelming to say the least. And considering the reputation he had when he arrived at West Ham, that will have been a real disappointment for the club’s fans.
If the Hammers manage to get a decent fee for him, it will be a job well done.
