Opinion: West Ham forced to finally concede as Leeds allegedly ready mega £40m bid for Adama Traore

West Ham United’s hopes of signing Adama Traore finally appear to be over with Leeds allegedly readying a £40 million bid for the Wolves winger.

Eurosport claims that the Whites are ready to shatter their transfer record by bringing the 25-year-old winger to Elland Road this summer.

The Hammers have long been linked with a move to sign the former Barcelona ace (Football.London and The Daily Mail).

Traore would be a superb signing for West Ham. He is as fast and powerful as they come and would be the ideal candidate to be the next winger transformed into a menace of a centre-forward by David Moyes.

He eventually joined Wolves for just £18 million (Independent).

West Ham to concede in Adama Traore race as Leeds ready mega bid?

Marcelo Bielsa is keen to bring the Wolves ace to Leeds this summer according to a report from Eurosport.

It is suggested that the Whites are ready to offer up to £40 million for the fleet-footed winger.

West Ham will obviously not be able to compete with Leeds financially this summer.

Any kind of fee around the £40 million mark for Traore will completely rule the Hammers out of the running, there is no doubt about that.

David Moyes has far more pressing priorities on his agenda at the London Stadium this summer as well.

The Spain international lacked any kind of a final product last season. He does have the talent needed to succeed at the very highest level, however. And he would have been an incredibly exciting addition for West Ham.

It seems as though Adama is Leeds bound, however. Hopefully we don’t live to regret not having signed him earlier on in his career.
