90 Min claims that the Hammers are plotting a move for Man United defender Phil Jones in January.
Whilst the Mirror reckons David Moyes wants to bring Red Devils play-maker Jesse Lingard to the London Stadium.
Signing both Manchester United players would reek of desperation and short-termism, however.

David Moyes has repeatedly suggested over the past year that he wants to bring young, hungry and talented players to West Ham.
Jones and Lingard clearly don’t fit into that category whatsoever.
The Hammers should be targeting a top class centre-forward, a central midfielder and a centre-back in January and next summer.
All three players need to be hard-working and energetic with huge potential. You don’t need to spend a fortune to make good signigns.
Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal prove this.
Signing Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard would feel like a real backwards step for West Ham.

The Manchester United duo are not bad players. And they will undoubtedly be able to do a decent job somewhere.
Let’s just hope their next destination isn’t the London Stadium.
The two players, who have 51 combined caps for England, would demand huge wages. Jones is injury prone and Lingard’s attitude off the pitch is questionable.
West Ham need to avoid signing either of the two players at all costs. We are evolving as a club and are slowly getting away from our reputation of giving ageing stars one last lucrative pay-day.
Let’s not go backwards eh!
