Queens Park Rangers Director of Football Les Ferdinand raved about about reported West Ham target Eberechi Eze, when speaking on the The Beautiful Game Podcast yesterday, describing the midfielder as one of the best players he has ever seen.

The Hammers are interested in signing the £20 million rated QPR sensation, according to a report from the Sun.

Eze has been on fire for the west London outfit this season.

He has racked up 12 goals and eight assists in 37 Championship outings for QPR (Transfermarkt).

In those outings, the 21-year-old has averaged 2.4 shots, 1.9 key passes and three dribbles per game (Who Scored).

Eze has averaged 36.3 passes per game, with a very impressive completion rate of 86.4% (Who Scored).

And Ferdinand offered high words of praise for the 21-year-old, when speaking on the The Beautiful Game Podcast yesterday:

“If you look at his footballing ability I could put him down as one of the best I have seen in terms of what I have been fortunate to play with in my career. When I see some of the things he does on a football and how comfortable he is on a football, I put him up there as one of the best I have seen. Whether he fulfils his potential to be one of the best I have worked with time will tell but in terms of his ability with the ball certainly he is one of the best I have seen.”

Eze is clearly an extremely talented young player. Only time will tell if he goes on to become a star. He certainly has all of the basic ingredients needed to reach the very top.

And for just £20 million, whichever club wins the race for his signature will surely secure themselves a real coup.

After Ferdinand’s comments, West Ham fans will be hoping their side pulls out all the stops to bring the 21-year-old to the London Stadium in the summer.
