The West Ham United fans have been seriously underwhelmed by our alleged move to sign RB Leipzig striker Andre Silva on a six-month loan deal in the January transfer window.
The need for a new striker at West Ham is palpable.
Graham Potter has to get the signing of a new centre-forward over the line before the January transfer window slams shut.
West Ham are said to have agreed a deal to sign Ezechiel Banzuzi, but he is a midfielder.
The 19-year-old would be a sensational addition for the Hammers, there’s no doubting that.
However, we need so much more, and attacking reinforcements will be a necessity if Potter is to succeed at the London Stadium.
Andre Silva is said to be close to joining the Hammers on a short-term loan deal.

Hardly inspiring is it? The 29-year-old has spent close to two years on the sidelines with calf and hamstring problems since the start of the 2022/23 season (Transfermarkt).
However, the West Ham transfer team seem to have their fingers in numerous pies.
And the latest claim really is a hugely exciting one.
West Ham make official enquiry for electric Serie A striker
There’s around 10 days remaining now before the January window slams shut.
And our hunt for a new striker seems to be getting more frantic.
However, don’t get too down about the Andre Silva claims Hammers fans.
It seems like we could be on the verge of something very special in the January window.
That’s because Tuttomercatoweb are claiming that West Ham have made an official enquiry for Noah Okafor.
It was recently suggested that West Ham wanted to sign Okafor on a loan deal with an option to buy him in the summer.
The 24-year-old is on another level entirely to Silva, and is exactly the type of striker the Hammers should be signing.
He is absolutely electric, and possesses blistering pace and truly exceptional movement in and around the penalty area.
Why Noah Okafor is an elite option for West Ham
Now, Okafor isn’t a fox in the box as such.

In fact, the Switzerland international is extremely versatile, and can play on either wing as well as through the middle.
He has struggled during his time with AC Milan, with just seven goals and five assists in 52 games to his name.
However, it’s worth noting that the 24-year-old has only played 1,555 minutes for Milan.
Okafor’s record of 34 goals and 23 assists in 110 appearances for RB Salzburg makes for far better reading.
His qualities stretch far beyond purely just goalscoring ability though.
The forward’s pace would offer the Hammers a real threat in behind the opposition’s defence – something that we don’t really have right now.
If West Ham sign Noah Okafor in the January window, it really will set pulses racing.
And then if we signed Andre Silva on loan as well, it would be a lot easier to stomach.
