Nikola Maksimovic is keen to move to the Premier League above anything else this summer amidst links with West Ham according to The Sunday Mirror (Print Edition; July 3rd, page 77).
In other news…Report: West Ham player is hoping to leave club soon
The Hammers’ need to sign a new centre-back has already been well-documented this summer.
Fabian Balbuena has already left the London Stadium leaving David Moyes with only Angelo Ogbonna, Craig Dawson and Issa Diop to call upon.
The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer this summer after his contract expired with Napoli.
Nikola Maksimovic boost for West Ham
The Sunday Mirror (Print Edition; July 3rd, page 77) claims that plenty of clubs are chasing the 25-capped Serbia international’s signature.
In great news for the Hammers, however, Maksimovic allegedly wants a move to the Premier League above all else.
If true, that will obviously stand us in great stead.
The 29-year-old would be the ideal addition for West Ham this summer. And his availability on a free transfer will undoubtedly appeal to the club’s owners as well.
The seasoned veteran is an old school, no-nonsense defender. He is fairly accomplished with the ball at his feet as well.
In 17 Serie A outings last term, Maksimovic averaged 1.1 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 2.6 clearances per game. He also won an average of 2.1 aerial duals per match. The centre-back averaged 56.5 passes per game with a supremely impressive completion rate of 92.2% (Who Scored).
Signing the Serbian on a free transfer seems like an absolute no-brainer. And his keenness to move to England should help West Ham wrap this one up with the minimum of fuss.
