According to a report from Corriere Fiorentino (Print edition, April 2nd, page 11), Man United are ‘constantly monitoring’ the 23-year-old.

And if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to swoop in for the 28-capped Serbia international, the Hammers will face a very bring problem.

It was claimed that the Hammers made a £23 million bid for Milenkovic during the summer transfer window.

Calcio Mercato suggested that the Serie A outfit were demanding closer to £35 million for the 23-year-old, however.

Calcio Mercato recently claimed that Milenkovic will not be signing a new deal with Fiorentina. With the Serbian’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2022, perhaps he will now be available for less than the price quoted above.

West Ham face nightmare scenario with Manchester United allegedly tracking Nikola Milenkovic

The Fiorentina star is an absolutely superb defender and he would be a great addition for West Ham. Manchester United keeping tabs on him will undoubtedly be an issue for the Hammers, however.

In 22 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina this season, the Serbian has scored two goals and registered one assist. In those outings, he has averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 3.2 clearances and one block per match.

The 23-year-old has won an average of 3.5 aerial duals per game and has an 86.6% pass completion rate from an average of 54.6 passes per match (Who Scored).

The centre-back has been dubbed the new ‘Nemanja Vidic’ in his homeland (ESPN).

Milenkovic is exactly the kind of signing West Ham should be making. If Man United throw everything at bringing the 23-year-old to Old Trafford, however, the Hammers’ hopes of signing him may well be dead in the water.
