Comments from Jesse Lingard in a new interview sounds worryingly like a West Ham United farewell.
West Ham get major boost with Southampton quartet to miss season finale
Lingard has been a revelation since signing for West Ham on loan from Manchester United in January.
Nine goals, four assists and several ‘pre-assists’ – a key pass, action or moment of skill that creates the opportunity for a goal – tell you everything about Lingard’s 15 games at West Ham so far.
West Ham boss David Moyes is desperate to keep Lingard permanently this summer. The Scot reiterated as much only yesterday (Sky Sports).

Moyes desperate to keep Lingard after sensational loan spell at West Ham
Speculation has been rife over the 28-year-old’s future. It remains to be seen whether Man United sell the midfielder with new reports suggesting he could be used as a makeweight in a bid to sign Spurs striker Harry Kane.
West Ham are looking to end the season on a high. A point against Southampton tomorrow will seal West Ham’s best ever Premier League points total and a place in the Europa League.
But the game could be Lingard’s farwell.

Lingard comments sound worryingly like a Hammers farewell
That’s if new comments from the man himself are anything to go by.
Sitting down for an interview with West Ham’s official website, Lingard appeared to suggest this could be the end of a short romance.
“I was already ready to play from many months ago so to play the first game at Villa seems a lifetime ago now that we’re near the end of the season,” Lingard told whufc.com when reflecting on his loan move to West Ham.
“But it’s been a brilliant experience and I’ll take away so many memories…
“It’s been great, I’ve met a lot of new people and made a countless number of friends, so to take on this challenge has been amazing and to take away the memories will be special.”

Massive blow if West Ham don’t retain midfield ace who has taken team to a new level
It will be a massive shame if West Ham do not retain Lingard.
He has elevated West Ham’s game to a new level. His bravery and quality on the ball has been second to none and his goal involvements since February were only bettered by Kane.
Some West Ham fans have been critical of Lingard’s performances in the last few games.
But it will be a case of you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone if Lingard does not return.
