West Ham United are being linked with another Czech Republic star, this time defender David Zima.

The bargain signings of brilliant Czech duo Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek have encouraged West Ham to keep scouring the country for talent.

The Hammers have been linked with goalkeepers Ondrej Kolar and Tomas Vaclik, striker Adam Hlozek and midfielder Alex Kral.

And now it has been claimed West Ham could sign Soucek and Coufal’s former Slavia Prague teammate David Zima.

The 6ft 3in centre-back is just 20-years-old.

But he has already established himself as an international and is in the Czech Republic’s squad for the Euros alongside the West Ham duo, Kral and Vaclik.

Back in March Zima was voted Talent of the Year in the Czech Football of the Year awards. Soucek won the main award.

Football journalist claims West Ham will sign one of Zima or Hlozek and duo share the same agent as Soucek

According to football journalist Liam Stormont – formerly of The Athletic – Zima has the same agent as Soucek and Hlozek.

And he says at least one of those players look set to join West Ham this summer.

“It looks like at least one of Adam Hlozek or David Zima will be joining West Ham in the summer,” Stormont said on Twitter.

“Their agent, same agent as Tomas Soucek, is believed to be a key component of any deal taking place. Exciting summer ahead.”

Is Zima the defender on Moyes’s agenda?

Indeed it is for West Ham fans if a recent claim from club insiders Claret and Hugh is to be believed.

The site, which has direct links to West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold, claims David Moyes will be given £85million to spend in the window.

And signing a new centre-back is on his agenda as well as bringing in at least one striker, Jesse Lingard, a central midfielder and goalkeeper.

Could Zima be the centre half? We will find out soon. Moyes may certainly need one with Fabian Balbuena likely to leave and Angelo Ogbonna turning 34 next season.

Meanwhile West Ham fans will have a huge interest in the Czech Republic’s games over the summer.
