Medel is reportedly once again on West Ham’s radar

According to a report from Turkish media outlet Fanatik, West Ham plan to move for Gary Medel imminently.

The Hammers have been long-term admirers of the 31-year-old. The Daily Mail reported back in January that Manuel Pellegrini was actually close to bringing the Chilean to the London Stadium.

That move obviously failed to materialise, however.

It seems as though West Ham are back in for him now. Fanatik claims that the east London outfit’s move for the veteran is imminent.

Medel is a vastly experienced campaigner, and he would be a solid addition for the Hammers. His potential arrival is unlikely to get the club’s fans too excited, however.

Midfield is actually one area where West Ham are actually pretty well stocked, but the 119-capped Chile international’s experience and combativeness would undoubtedly strengthen Pellegrini’s side.

He only has one year remaining on his contract with Besiktas. So West Ham will more than likely be able to pick him up for a bargain fee this summer.

Hammers fans won’t have too much to complain about, however, as long as he is just one of many new arrivals.

After-all, Medel could turn out to be a real hit at the London Stadium.
